Los Angeles Restaurant reviews emailed to my blog from yelps From: Lance 2/5/2012 Sippin' On Yelps And Juice This Weekly Yelp brought to you by Taste of Arcadia Misty F Café Roulé will help you roll back the temp! On The Radar Mini Me Spa Services At Ravissant Salon: Scissor Soiree CMYE Calling All Flappers And Sheiks: Ticket To The Twenties Moon Lighting: 15th Annual Harvest Moon Festival Get Down With The Get Down: SOL Park Party Stage Riot! Flash Festival As the thermostat continues to exceed explosive temps, it feels like the only way to cool your body is to guzzle down an iced cold bevi of cubetastic measures. There's something about a fresh squeezed glass of juice on the rocks that takes you from dreaded desert heat to poolside paradise. The next time that first droplet of sweat starts to form, slurp this refreshing Weekly (bendy straw not included). Karila S may be underage, but Dlush in Hollywood shakes up a virgin mojito that beats the heat and lets her partake in some fantasy +21 fun: "It was the best decision of my night!" Bottoms up, baby! Over in Temple City, Eddie D gets his non-alcoholic mix fix at Café Roulé, where "the jasmine green tea lemonade has a pungent, bitter taste that's best when combined with sweet and sour lemonade. It's pretty awesome." If you fancy yourself a veritable not-from-concentrate connoisseur, help Sophia V choose a drink from the extensive list available at Mid-City West's èple. She played it safe and eventually ordered the "fresh and natural and not too sweet" strawberry banana, but she's "definitely getting the peach mint next time!" Andrew C navigates through a sea of hipsters in Silver Lake to tap into his "Life Line (açaí, apple, beet, grapes, and blueberries)" at Naturewell. Better to have hipsters serve you nutrients than an overpriced Miller High Life, right A? If you like 'em thick, hit up Raspado Xpress in Downtown, where Kelsey S and her brain freeze-craving boy toy "ordered up a large OJ juiced on the spot and a large strawberry mango smoothie." Both were "super stoked" on their sips; "they get an A+!" Janet L jugos at Highland Park's Tropical Fruit and Juices: "I stop by often to get banana strawberry licuado (blended fruit smoothie with milk)." Yonder in Hollywood, Esther N drinks straight from the Juices Fountain. "The Rainbow smoothie – made with several kinds of fruit – has a complex flavor and is very satisfying!" Could it be? We've found something better than a double rainbow! Review this business.
Los Angeles Restaurant reviews emailed to me to my blog From: Sharon Needles 1/31/2012 Well here is some the emails that yelp is always sending me a for a restaurant. Yelpin' Izakaya Style August This Weekly Yelp brought to you by KCRW's Album Preview Cindy H The perfect izakaya starter? Yakatori at Ojiya. On the Radar Dodger Stadium Goes To The Dogs: 1st Annual Bark In The Park Dog Day The Bowl's About To Get Dirty: Pasadena Rose Bowl Mud Run A Full Muse: LACMA's Muse 'Til Midnight Showdown At The Yelp Corral Tonight! Shoot 'Em Up, Those Damn Villains! Passport For Your Palate: Filipino Food Meetup At The Magic Wok The Japanese are probably most known for their sushi, and us fish fiends aren't complaining! But since yelpers are all about exploring their options, this Far East Weekly's all about the lesser-known but equally delicious izakaya joints. Sharing is caring, after all! Wash your hands and empty your bellies; we're not skimping on the portions! Hacienda Heights, with its "Japanese hole-in-the-walls," is the perfect testing ground for the izakaya-challenged. Linda F is particularly fond of Ojiya: "Everything was delicate, fresh, and flavorful. The yakitori was tender and juicy and the burdock root chips were fun to eat." You gobo, girl! Over in Pasadena, Erika E "closed her eyes and woke up in Japan" after feasting on the fried tofu at Oba Sushi Izakaya. Likewise, the authenticity of Honda Ya incites flashbacks of Ray K's days in Nihon: "Their robata stuff is to die for. Sitting on the floor while eating reminds me of being at home, chillin' with homies in my Japanese-themed dream house." Even though Boyle Heights isn't known for its abundant Japanese cuisine, Warren O found a hidden gem in Otomisan: "Hands down some of the best Japanese food in LA. Seafood tempura, tonkatsu, curry rice, chicken karaage, spicy tuna donburi, and unagi – everything we've tried has been spot on!" For more finger-licking bite-sized fried chicken (or "karaage," if you wanna get technical), Roland A suggests Sake House Miro on South La Brea. "The deep fried nuggets are cooked to perfection, kinda like a kyochon chicken wing." And of course, "don't forget the sake!" Roland, we would never. If you're overwhelmed by menu options, "get down to business" with Charles L and his dining companions at Hazuki in Little Tokyo. They order in multiples of six: "We got calamari salad, fatty pork tonkatsu, tori teba shioyaki (broiled salt chicken wings), sashimi moriawase (special sashimi plate), shrimp tempura, and buta kakuni (pork belly and our chosen winner of the bunch)." After you've had your fill of Japanese, take your palate over to K-town's Dan Sung Ka. Maian T and her buds go on a "hella food marathon" with the "duk bok gi rice cakes in red sauce with ramen, seaweed rolls, lentil jelly salad, octopus salad, spicy chicken wings, and chicken butt." Well guess what! Izakaya or ney? Let us know on Talk! Review this business.

Providence restaurant in Los Angeles mid wilshire From: Lance 1/10/2009 Neighborhood: Mid Wilshire 5955 Melrose Ave Los Angeles, CA 90038 (323) 460-4170 www.providencela.com Let me start by saying that I had lived in Chicago for 2 years and had some of the BEST Thai food in my life there. (Cozy Noodle, anyone?) I've always been on the hunt for a good, cheap Thai place in LA, and after a year had yet to discover one. Everything on the menu is exceptional and the waiters are very friendly with a great sense of humor. Check it out!!! And boy oh boy, I was soooo pleasantly floored - not even surprised, I'm talking floored. I have to say when we rolled up to this place I was like, "Really? Here?... I'm sure it will be good but not great." Oh how foolish! How little did I know!! Loved everything about this little restaurant. The ambience, very quaint and cozy, the food, awesome and very tasty, and the service, two words....HOT SERVERS! I felt like ordering more food just so that I can listen to our server's French accent (real or fake...who cares...THEY'RE HOT!!!). I'm definitely going back.. Review this business.
